Please open Windows File Explorer and delete the "downloads" folder and the version_system.txt file in the same folder.

For direct iRacing accounts, the default location is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing

Then, hard reboot your modem by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.

If you can, please hardwire your computer to your router or modem.

Then open the iRacing UI and try to update again.

If the issue continues, please try again (make sure to delete the C:/Program Files (x86)/iRacing/downloads folder each try) from our two different Content Delivery Networks (CDN). You can change this by going into the iRacing UI (or iRacing Web: https://members-ng.iracing.com/ )  and click Settings at the lower left, then in the Options section, click the Network tab and try from both CloudFront and Fastly:

You may see a blank page or get an error when updating if these executables are blocked by your firewall.

Some common antivirus and firewalls are Norton, AVG, Microsoft Security Essentials, Avast, McAfee, Kaspersky... If you see an error during the next step, or if the update in the next step does not work, it is likely that the problem can be fixed by adding the executable files (listed below) to the list of executables that your firewall allows to communicate over the internet.

Simply disabling the firewall will not automatically allow the necessary program files access to the internet. This has to be accomplished by allowing the following files as exceptions in your particular firewall software. Refer to your firewall instructions or to one of the links below to find the directions for doing so.

Unless you specified otherwise, the default location for your iRacing.com software is your C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing folder. If you installed it through Steam, then it is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\iRacing.

Whitelist/allowlist the following executables:

C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing\iRacingLauncher.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing\iRacingLocalServer64.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing\iRacingService64.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing\iRacingSim64DX11.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing\iRacingUpdater.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing\UI\iRacingui.exe

Please also try enabling/disabling the Run as Administrator status of C:\Program Files(x86)\iRacing\updater\iRacingUpdater.exe

Lasty, try disabling Windows User Account Control in Control Panel.
