Why aren’t my iRacing credits being applied to my order?

If your credits aren’t showing up in your order, it’s usually because your account is set to not use iRacing credits/dollars by default. This is a setting you can turn on or off at any time.

How do I turn iRacing credits on or off?

If you have a direct iRacing account, you can control this in two places:

  • From your account settings:
Open the iRacing UI → click your helmet (top right) → Account
Under Account Balance, you’ll see a toggle for using credits/dollars

  • During checkout:
When you’re in your cart, just flip the toggle to apply (or remove) credits from your order

I’m using Steam—why can’t I change this setting?

For Steam-based accounts, this option isn’t available.
Credits are automatically applied to your purchases, and this can’t be turned off.

How do I know if my credits are being used?

There won’t be a pop-up or message confirming it.
Instead, you’ll see your order total update automatically in your cart and again on the final checkout screen.

Can I remove credits from an order?

Yep!
Just toggle the option off in your cart, and your total will update right away.

Will this setting stay the same next time I buy something?

Yes, it’s saved as a preference on your account.
That means it’ll apply to future purchases until you change it again.

Why do I still need a payment method if I have enough credits? (Subscriptions only)

Even if your credits cover the full cost, we still require a valid payment method for verification.

Accepted options include:
Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, PayPal, or Venmo (with at least $1 available)

If you don’t have one on file, you’ll need to add it before completing your subscription.

Do iRacing credits expire?

Yes, they do. Credits expire 2 years from the date they’re issued, so be sure to use them before then.

iRacing dollars (funds that you add to your iRacing account) do NOT expire
