The 3D UI model for the car isn't loading

Step 1: Check for Optional Updates

The 3D viewer requires the car data file to render. The UI should require you to download any required files, but in some rare cases may not.

Confirm that there are no optional updates related to the vehicle you're trying to view.

Step 2: Clear the Local UI Cache

Close the iRacing UI.

Open a file browser and in the address bar type %appdata% and press enter.

Delete the iracing-electron folder, then relaunch the UI.

Step 3: Redownload Car Data Files

In rare cases data files may become corrupted. This can only be fixed by downloading the files again.

Navigate to the iRacing install directory and then the cars directory within it.

Find the folder for the vehicle you're trying to view and delete it.

Close and reopen the UI, and download the files again.

If you are experiencing issues with many vehicles, you may need to delete the cars.dat file in the cars folder.

Step 4: Contact iRacing Support

All log files for the iRacing UI are stored in the Documents\iRacing\logs folder.

Create a zip file out of this folder and send it to support@iracing.com along with a description of your issue.

The Showroom and Paint Kit windows don't load

Step 1: Check GPU Settings

The 3D Viewer uses the GPU in a way that the rest of the UI doesn't. This can sometimes lead to issues when a GPU is applying post-processing.

In your Graphics Card Control Panel find any Sharpening and FXAA settings. Set them to not override other program settings.

For NVIDIA, you may also need to set this in GeForce Experience.

Step 2: Clear the Local UI Cache

Close the iRacing UI.

Open a file browser and in the address bar type %appdata% and press enter.

Delete the iracing-electron folder, then relaunch the UI.

Step 3: Perform a Clean Install of Graphics Card Drivers

There are various ways that drivers can become corrupt, but none of them are easy to predict or detect.

To be safe, download the latest driver and install it again. During the process be sure to select the Clean Install checkbox.

Step 4: Contact iRacing Support
