As announced on Aug. 29, 2025 and in the 2025 Season 4 release notes, this option has been retired with the 2026 Season 1 Release (Dec. 9, 2025). All 3rd party applications should be migrated to OAuth2 authentication.

See Legacy Authentication Removal- Dec. 9, 2025 — iRacing Forums for additional info.

The Legacy Authentication section of iRacing Account Management at https://oauth.iracing.com/accountmanagement/ will be removed in a future update and Legacy Authentication disabled for all users who had enabled it.

Understanding the risks of using 3rd party applications

The 3rd party iRacing community has created some great applications for members to get more out of their racing experience. However, iRacing DOES NOT have any control over what these applications do with your data, nor do we review their code, security, or operational processes.

Prior to retiring Legacy Authentication, some applications requested your iRacing credentials. Using one of these applications put your credentials at risk to be stolen. We have made OAuth available to 3rd parties, so they no longer need to ask for your credentials. Instead, they can redirect you to iRacing's login page and once you are logged in, we send you back to the 3rd party application.

If any 3rd party applications are asking you for your iRacing credentials rather than sending you to the iRacing log in page, you should NOT provide them.

If you previously provided credentials to a 3rd party application and are still using that password, we recommend changing your password and for the new password to be unique to your iRacing account.
